St Peter's Primary School

New Parent Information

This page is dedicated to our new entrants starting in September 2024.

Relevant information will be uploaded here as it is available, to keep you fully informed.

If you have been offered a place for your child to start Reception in September 2024 you should have already received a welcome email.  This year our admission registration will be processed online and in the welcome email you will receive a link and username details for the pre-admissions platform.

We will be holding a meeting for new parents on Wednesday 3 July at 6.15 pm.  You can view the presentation that was given below.  Representatives from our parents association, the SPSA, will be there, and you will have the opportunity to purchase good quality second hand uniform.

Before the children actually start school we will be holding some "Stay and Play Sessions" here at school for parents and children on Friday 6 September, Monday 9 September and Tuesday 10 September.

The timetable with the date and time slot for these sessions will be emailed to you. Children do not need to wear school uniform.  Please bring back your child's completed Marvellous Me! Sheet to your session.

Children will then start school properly on Wednesday 11 September.  Initially, for this first week they will attend for half days only (depending on their age) and not have lunch in school.  You have been informed by email which class your child is in and which session, morning or afternoon, they will be attending.

All children will then start school full-time on Monday 16 September.  Please note that we are having an INSET (staff training day) on Friday 27 September, so the school will be closed for pupils.

All of these dates are below and can also be found in the school calendar here.

If, at any time, you have a question, please email admissions@st-peters.croydon.sch.uk or call during school hours on 020 8688 5414.

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive a free school meal under the government's Universal Infant Free School Meal Scheme.  If, however you think you may have an underlying entitlement to Free School Meals because of your financial situation, then it is to you and the school's benefit for you to apply for this.  You can check your entitlement here.

Your child can receive a free portion of milk each day while they are under five.  You can register your child for this by visiting the Cool Milk website.  If you wish them to continue receiving milk after their fifth birthday, you will be invoiced by Cool Milk, unless you have a free school meal entitlement, in which case the school will pay for your child's milk.

If you purchase name labels for your child's belongings from Stikins and quote code 21665 then our Parents' Association, the SPSA, will earn up to 30% commission.

You can purchase school uniform at any retail outlet as long as it is in the correct school colours, but if you wish to buy it from Hewitt's of Croydon then you can order online from their website.
